INTRODUCTION It is quite observable that some learners learn a new language more quickly than others, because they are successful by virtue of their strong determination, hard work and persistence. Affective factors are emotional factors which influence learning. They can have a negative or positive effect. English as a foreign language, we need to be aware of the different factors which influences the process of second language acquisition in students. Goals and hypotheses The mail goal was identifying the influence of the affective factors on the performance in English language acquisition in students that do not major in languages. The first internal factor is age. The purpose of this essay is to reflect on some of them and make inferences about how to organize classes regarding these aspects. The aim of this report is to focus on one perspective presented by Stephen Krashen in his Monitor Model (1981, 1982, and 1985) regarding “Affective Filters”.
